Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I am so blessed to be able to make a living by helping others and their communities. Each day, I sit down and help people overcome financial concerns and obstacles. I also get to help my community with our fraternal programs and activities. It’s very rewarding to be able to do what I do.

I serve members in…

Alabama and Georgia.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance and annuities.

I enjoy working with…

families, those who want to retire and business owners.

I attended…

Cleburne County High School and Southern Union Junior College.

I am very proud of…

earning the 2017 District of the Year Award in our Modern Woodmen region.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

was a jack-of-all-trades.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

they take care of their people.

The best part of my career is…

helping people.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I found out what fraternalism was all about. My daughter, Cassidy, was hurt in a four-wheeler accident on May 16, 2010. I have always been on the giving side of Modern Woodmen -- fraternalism, benefits, etc. But this time I was on the receiving side, receiving prayers, calls from all over the U.S. and generosity from Modern Woodmen's people, members, agents and home office employees.

“The best part of my career is helping people.”

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my wife, Leesa, my two daughters, Cassidy and Talley, and my son, Drake.

In my free time, you can find me…

at church, spending time with my family or on the golf course.

I’m passionate about…

three things: God is always first, family and friends are second and my job is third.

My greatest blessing is…

when the Lord saved me and my family by letting Cassidy stay here, when he could have taken her home eight years ago.

My personal motto is…

Two rules to live by: 1) Do not sweat the small stuff, and 2) God said, "It is all small stuff!"

My hidden talent is…

nothing. I wish I had a hidden talent!

Community impact

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

my entire life! And I've spent more than 26 years in Ranburne, Alabama.

What I like best about my community is…

the amazing people. They genuinely care for one another and give back to make this community great.

I’m a member of…

Macedonia Baptist Church.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

helping the fire departments and the schools raise money for whatever they need.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund projects to raise money for those in need.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

when the community raised $10,000 with a prayer walk and cake sale for my daughter, Cassidy, after her accident. Then one of her friends was in a accident two weeks later, and we raised another $10,000 with another prayer walk and cake sale. There are only 408 people in the town of Ranburne. People came from everywhere.
