Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I am so blessed to make a living by helping others and their communities. Each day, I help people overcome financial concerns and obstacles. I also get to help my community with our fraternal programs and activities. It's very rewarding to do what I do.

I serve members in…

Tennessee, Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Texas.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

individuals, families, small-business owners, those approaching retirement and those looking to save for college.

I attended…

John Overton High School and Middle Tennessee State University.

I am very proud of…

being featured in Modern Woodmen's magazine for representatives.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I believe in the organization - not only for how it supports members to reach their financial goals, but also for the way it supports my community and allows me to give back.

The best part of my career is…

building relationships with my members and helping them plan for their futures. Whether it's planning for life or protecting their families with life insurance, I feel good knowing I have helped to make a positive impact on their lives.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I got a phone call from a member to personally thank me for including her in all that Modern Woodmen does in the community. How blessed am I that I get to serve alongside members in our communities?

Also…

being a financial representative with Modern Woodmen allows me to do what I love! The quote says, "Do what you love, and you'll never work a day in your life." I can honestly say that my career with Modern Woodmen doesn't feel like work.

“Building relationships with my members is key to creating the perfect plan. We take the time to get to know you and your family. Get to know me and see how we can work together to meet your needs.”

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my husband, Doug; my daughters and their spouses, Hannah and James, Emma and Marshall, Abby and Jess; my sons, Nick and Chase; and my grandchildren, Oliver, Carson, Enzo, Logan, and another one on the way, plus three dogs and six grand-dogs.

In my free time, you can find me…

spending time with my family or traveling with my husband.

I’m passionate about…

my grandsons and spending time with my husband.

My greatest blessing is…

my family and friends – the people I get to do life with!

My personal motto is…

love others.

My hidden talent is…

baking cookies.

Community impact

In the community

In the community

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

for 29 years in the Nolensville area, but I was born and raised in Nashville - a true unicorn!

What I like best about my community is…

the small-town feel. The people of Nolensville genuinely care for each other and the community as a whole.

I’m a member of…

The Church at Nolensville.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

anything where I can help children.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

service projects that make an impact in the communities we serve. Collections for the local food pantry and animal shelter and putting in a new Little Library are a few of my favorites.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

when we held a contest between the police department and fire and rescue (Heroes For a Cause) to raise money for the Nolensville Food Pantry. The departments and community raised over $7,500 and Modern Woodmen matched that $7,500 for a grand total of $15,093.38. What a blessing for the families with food insecurities that Nolensville Food Pantry serves.

Also…

we like to have fun! This past year, we brought many of our members together to enjoy activities like visiting a pumpkin patch, enjoying Zoolumination at the Nashville Zoo, and attending a showing of The Santa Claus at a small-town theater – complete with our own Santa and Mrs. Claus visiting. We even took our members to a Nashville Predators hockey game.
