Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I chose this career because it’s all about helping others. I help my members plan for a secure financial future.

I serve members in…

Treasure Valley, Idaho, where I live and work. I’m also licensed in Washington, Oregon, Utah, California, Florida, Pennsylvania and Georgia, so I can help members across the country with various needs.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

female business owners, families, those approaching retirement. If you’ve felt intimidated planning for the future and want an understanding financial rep, I’m driven by a servant's heart. I want to be your ally, educating you to make the best decision for your needs. I work to be accessible and available for questions and help. I’d love to give you a second opinion if you’re unsure about your current retirement or insurance plans.

I attended…

Boise State University and American Institute of Health Technology. More recently, I completed extended studies with my FIC and FICF designations. These designations allow me to specialize in applications of life insurance, business planning, and retirement plans. I’m a lifelong learner, always seeking personal growth opportunities. I’m currently taking a course in leadership at the American College of Financial Services.

I am very proud of…

helping others through financial services. I also get to give back to our community through Modern Woodmen's fraternal programs. We invest hundreds of thousands of dollars into local nonprofits and programs that support our community.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

worked in direct sales, serving and coaching women to be business owners. I also worked in the dental hygiene field for 15 years. I loved helping patients feel at ease and building relationship with generations of families.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I was a member for six years before becoming a representative. I had life insurance for myself and my family, as well as retirement planning and other personal financial needs. I love that there are so many member programs and, as a fraternal financial organization, we give back to the communities we serve.

The best part of my career is…

working with members, helping them gain confidence as they make choices to protect their families and prepare for their futures. I appreciate when a member tells me they wouldn't be making these good choices without my follow-up and service.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I helped a widow plan to secure her and her children’s futures through life insurance and our member programs. And delivering on the promises we made to her and her husband gave me such a feeling of gratitude.

Also…

This picture is me at a recent fraternal event. Modern Woodmen sponsored a cooling station at the Urban Air event for our younger members during this past hot summer!

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my husband of 20 years, John; my daughter, Cypress; and our angel baby, Bodhi. We also have a pack of three crazy pups: Tiko (a chiweenie), Jada (a mini pin mix), and Murtagh (a bully rescue).

In my free time, you can find me…

reading historical novels, playing with my daughter, volunteering at her school, spending time with family and friends, and sampling local fare with my husband. We also love to travel or camp in our VW and get on the water with our paddle boards.

I’m passionate about…

being kind. I believe kindness matters more than we’ll ever know. Every tiny act of kindness is important. I love raising money to donate thermal totes to the local NICUs so every momma has a comfort bag when their baby is in the NICU.

My greatest blessing is…

my family. They support me through all of life’s adventures. They always help me on any project or choice I make.

My personal motto is…

have courage and be kind.

My hidden talent is…

finding treasures at second-hand stores. I love to resource unused items and turn them into something useful!

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

my entire life.

What I like best about my community is…

how friendly everyone is. If you’re walking on our greenbelt on a Saturday, you get a great sense of community as you pass others and they say, “Hello.”

I’m a member of…

a local nonprofit supporting NICU mommas. We provide care bags for mommas whose baby has unexpected birth outcomes.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

ones I can do with my daughter to encourage her to be a good citizen in her community. I teach her that kindness matters and to be a friend to all people. I serve on the school’s PTSA and a local school board to make an impact in education locally.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund projects to raise money for those in need.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

rock climbing with members and friends. The event, sponsored by Modern Woodmen, celebrated our Reach the Record campaign to bring awareness to mental health.
