Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I am blessed to help responsible people with concerns about protecting the lifestyles they created, and to help them have favorable financial choices in their futures.

I serve members in…

Hardin, Nelson, Larue and surrounding counties.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

individuals, families and small businesses.

I attended…

East Texas State University, Commerce, Texas.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I was a Modern Woodmen member long before I joined the organization.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

at my very first regional meeting, the meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer.

My life outside of work

My family includes…

Teresa, our three sons and our five grandkiddos!

In my free time, you can find me…

at BBQ competitions, farmers markets and in the kitchen.

I’m passionate about…

cooking, football and fermenting.

My greatest blessing is…

being in a position to address the concerns of individuals, families and businesses in a truly helpful capacity.

My personal motto is…

"My phone is on."

My hidden talent is…

listening attentively, not having to dominate the conversation.

Also…

a passion I have is helping churches with their community outreach projects.

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

for over 25 years between Nelson and Hardin Counties.

What I like best about my community is…

the people are great, and everything I might need is at hand.

I’m a member of…

New Hope Community Church.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

for the benefit of children and senior adults.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

volunteering alongside other Modern Woodmen members.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

hosting a Labor Day cookout for an adult day care facility, inviting families of the seniors and staff members. Along with grilling 100 burgers (with all the fixings), a half dozen chapter members brought homemade sides and desserts.

Also…

shortly ago, I was talking with the director of a vital food pantry regarding his retirement and noticed the food shelves were not stocked like usual. He said Feeding America, their main supplier, hadn't had canned goods available for several weeks. He was very concerned. Within the hour I had approval to write a check for $600. They called in a discounted bulk order to the local Save-A-Lot, and about two hours later I was emailed a picture of two pallets of canned foods arriving at the pantry.

Myth: You don't need an emergency fund if you have credit cards. Fact: Relying on credit cards for emergencies can lead to high-interest debt. An emergency fund provides a financial cushion without the added burden of interest payments.
