Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I’m so blessed to make a living by helping others and their communities. Each day, I sit down and help people overcome financial concerns and obstacles. I also get to help my community with our fraternal programs and activities. It’s extremely rewarding to do what I do.

I serve members in…

North Carolina, Randolph County and surrounding counties.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities, mutual funds and variable annuities.

I enjoy working with…

individuals, families, those approaching retirement and small-business owners.

I attended…

Guilford Technical Community College and Revelation Message Bible College.

I am very proud of…

earning the NAIFA and NAFIC quality awards for many years. I’ve also earned a place in Modern Woodmen’s Century Club four times and Executive Club three times.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

was a virtual trainer with Convergys for four years and a certified dental assistant/dental office manager for 21 years.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I believe in the organization -- not only for how it supports members to reach their financial goals, but also for the way it supports my community and allows me to give back.

The best part of my career is…

helping my members. Whether we're planning for their retirement or protecting their families with life insurance, I feel good knowing I helped make a positive impact on their lives.

A favorite moment in my career was when…

I understood the importance of my role and the plans I help members put in place. When I delivered my first benefit, it gave me peace knowing the woman wouldn’t struggle to bury her husband. Life insurance provided financial security she wouldn’t have had if we hadn't had a very needed conversation.

Also…

I'm glad to assist my members through financial hardships caused by medical issues. Our Fraternal Aid Fund pays three months of premiums for eligible members. It’s provided financial relief for several of my members. My greatest reward is knowing I make a difference through Modern Woodmen.

“I serve members in North Carolina, specifically Randolph County and surrounding counties.”

My life outside of work

My family includes…

my husband, Ritchie, and my son, Brandon.

In my free time, you can find me…

spending time with family and friends.

I’m passionate about…

my family and my friends!

My greatest blessing is…

my family and being blessed to help others.

My personal motto is…

always do the next right thing and treat others how you would like to be treated.

My hidden talent is…

solving problems. I love figuring out how to make difficult situations work.

Also…

I am very meticulous!

Community impact

In the community

In the community

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

my entire life!

What I like best about my community is…

the amazing people. It's home -- it always has been and always will be! No one is a stranger. People genuinely care for one another and give back to make this community great.

I’m a member of…

Liberty Chamber of Commerce, Randolph County Communities in Schools Board, and Randolph County Family Crisis Center Board.

My favorite volunteer activities are…

hands-on activities where I feel fulfilled. Any activity where I can help children, families and seniors walk away with a smile on their faces.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

Matching Fund projects to raise money for those in need.

My favorite memory from a fraternal event is…

partnering with other community groups to host a barbeque to help local family. A member in her 20s was diagnosed with cancer and the money raised helped offset medical expenses.

Also…

I’ve helped support local schools’ financial needs through our fraternal programs.
