Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I chose this career because it’s all about helping others. I help my members plan for a secure financial future.

I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including…

life insurance, annuities and mutual funds.

I attended…

the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California.

Before Modern Woodmen, I…

managed the Sylvan Learning Center in Turlock, California.

I chose Modern Woodmen because…

I believe in the organization – not only for how it supports members to reach their financial goals, but also for the way it supports my community and allows me to give back.

My local community impact

I have lived in my community…

more than 12 years.

What I like best about my community is…

the diversity of the people. It is home. People genuinely care for one another and give back to make this community great.

It’s very important to me to support my community. My favorite Modern Woodmen programs are:

donating youth educational programs to schools.

Looking to have fun while saving money this summer? Here are five ideas to do with the littles in your life! 1. Backyard scavenger hunt: Create a simple list (flowers, bugs, rocks) and let kids explore. 2. Picnic at a park: Pack snacks from home and make it an outing. 3. Library programs: Participate in free summer reading challenges and events. 4. Sidewalk chalk art contest: Encourage kids to decorate the driveway or sidewalk. 5. Volunteer together: Pick up litter in a park or choose another simple activity.

You’ve probably heard it before: build an emergency budget. But why does it matter? Think of it as your rainy day fund – the cushion you fall back on when life doesn’t go as planned. A good rule of thumb? Save enough to cover 3–6 months of essential living expenses to help when surprises happen. What’s the last thing your emergency budget helped cover? Share below!

Last month we held our 45th National Convention in Orlando, Florida. Nearly 200 member delegates came together to lead, serve and shape our future. Together, they: · Reviewed our bylaws and reflected on our financial and fraternal progress from 2022–2026. · Elected our board of directors and officers to guide us in the years ahead. · Gave back to the Orlando community by raising funds and packing essential bags for Miles To Go, supporting individuals experiencing homelessness. The event was a meaningful reminder of the strength of our mission and the impact we can make together.
