ran my own businesses. I worked for a family business in cable television systems from my teenage years to 1983, then began my own business in cable TV in 1986, constructing, owning and operating systems in West Virginia until 1999. I served as a town council member in Bluefield, VA, from 1998 to 2000 and was elected as mayor there in 2000 and 2002. I owned and operated a plywood mill from 2003 to 2007, supplying furniture companies with high grade plywood products for chairs and sofas.
